Going through the menopause?

The menopause is a natural transition from one phase of a woman’s life to another. Some women sail through the menopause with no problems whatsoever, but others may find it a more of a challenging time. However, even if some problems do arise, it’s important to remember that the menopause does not have to mean the end of good health and vitality, or a good sex life.

Our team of nurses, midwives and practitioners have put together a comprehensive selection of therapies and treatments designed to help you manage and overcome troublesome symptoms of the menopause.

Your first step

As a first step we usually recommend that you come in for an Initial Consultation with one of our Nutritional Therapists. A good diet made up of the right foods can be a critical element in a proactive approach to managing the menopause. Our nutritionist will be able to assess your individual needs and work out a plan specifically tailored to your requirements. Arriving at a plan that works for you, and that you will want to stick to, is obviously important. There's no point embarking on radical changes to your diet that may make perfect sense in theory, but which you'll want to abandon after just a few days of trying them!

Where appropriate, we may also recommend complementary therapies such as acupuncture or hypnotherapy. These can be used very effectively to provide relief from conditions such as hot flushes, night sweats, weight gain, insomnia, problems with libido, anxiety and depression.

Some of our clients choose to take a completely natural approach. Others pursue an integrated strategy, combining medical treatment with nutritional and complementary therapies. If you are undergoing treatment from your GP or gynaecologist our range of therapies can be a very beneficial addition, as well as giving you the physical and emotional support you might need.

In our experience both approaches can be very effective and which will be best for you will depend on your individual circumstances and preferences. Whichever suits you best, we are happy to help.
