Whichever protocol you follow, your progress will be very closely monitored during the cycle of drug treatment, in order to determine the ideal time at which to collect your eggs.
Ultrasound scans are performed regularly (approximately two or three times per week) in the run-up to egg collection, in order to check how the follicles are developing. Blood samples may also be taken to measure hormone levels, along with the scans.
