How long does it take to build up my microbiome for fertility?

Posted on

If you begin on what many refer to as a gut healing journey, some studies have shown that you can start to see differences within a couple of days. However, if the new healthy habits are ceased, then the microbiome reverts back to its original composition. In order to build a healthy gut microbiome it can take up to six months of the correct healthy habits.

While it takes many months to heal the gut microbiome, research has shown that taking a high-quality probiotic can have significant positive results for both the vaginal microbiome and sperm motility within weeks.

Research shows a link between the female reproductive microbiota and fertility issues and that it may play a key role in the success of assisted reproductive technologies, such as embryo implantation and pregnancy care.

Every woman looking to get pregnant, whether naturally or through IVF, will benefit from taking a probiotic product to help ensure the vaginal microbiome is at its optimum, but it is particularly important for:

  • Patients with recurrent infections
    • When treatment is started there is an increased risk of infection
    • Undiagnosed asymptomatic infections
  • Endometriosis Patients
    • The microbiota is involved in the appearance and progression of endometriosis, acting as a regulator of inflammation
    • Chronic endometriosis
    • Dysregulation of the microbiota or infection
  • Women with disturbances in their gut microbiome balance
    • Reduction and/or involvement of the bacterial microbiota

Probiotic timeline?

Femceive is a fertility probiotic that has been specifically formulated to achieve a balanced endometrial-vaginal microbiota and prepare the optimal environment for preconception. It is a minimum 34-day course and should be taken from the first day of the fertility cycle to prepare the endometrium to achieve optimal microbial biodiversity.

The reason for 34 capsules within a course of Femceive is that it covers all stages of the fertility cycle, starting by preparing the endometrium to achieve optimal microbial biodiversity during the pre-implantation stage, while also helping to achieve an optimal microbial environment for implantation and during the two-week wait.

If you have a positive pregnancy test result after 14 days then you should you stop and change to our probiotic for pregnancy, Pregnakalm. If you don't fall pregnant, then you should carry on taking Femceive.

What about men?

Much like the vaginal microbiome, research has shown that after three weeks of taking a probiotic product the percentage of motile sperm was six times higher and after six weeks this percentage increased even further so we recommend to take this as a continual course if you can.

As awareness of the incredible health benefits provided by probiotics continues to become more widespread studies show that a daily probiotic supplement can help to enhance the fertility of both men and women within weeks.

How to take Femceive or Menceive

Take one capsule each morning with breakfast. The capsules can either be swallowed whole or pulled apart and mixed with cold food.

The recommend duration of 34 days for Femceive and 21 days for Menceive are the minimum required to see results, so we recommend taking continually to support your fertility.
