Psyllium husk is a form of soluble fibre that helps to feed the friendly bacteria in your gut, encouraging them to colonise and in turn, supporting regular bowel movements. Fibre is an essential dietary component that is important both pre and post pregnancy.

Studies have shown that fibre can help to maintain a healthy weight, reduce the risk of insulin resitance and feed the friendly bacteria in your gut microbiome. These three factors all play an important role in promoting better fertility, a healthier pregnancy and post-pregnancy recovery.

  • Maintain a healthy weight: being overweight can impact reproductive health & may alter hormone levels in the body
  • Reduces risk of insulin resistance: insulin resistance can trigger the ovaries to overproduce androgen hormones. For women with PCOS this can cause irregular cycles or anovulation
  • Feeds the gut microbiome: good bacteria in the gut help to convert oestrogen into the active form, helping hormonal balance. The gut microbiome is also passed on to a baby after birth so having a healthy gut is vital for their healthy development!

Who is it for?

We recommend paring with our friendly bacteria supplements. For pre-pregnancy we recommend Femceive for women and Menceive for men. During pregnancy with recommended Pregnakalm. The fibre helps feed the friendly bacteria so they can grow and thrive in your gut to support fertility and pregnancy.

Directions - take up to 2 capsules, three times day. Avoid taking with any prescribed medication. The dose of psyllium husk can be tailored to support your needs. We recommend starting with just 1-2 capsules per day and building up slowly. 

Do not exceed the recommended dose. Food supplements should not replace a balanced deit and healthy lifestyle.
