Postnatal Support

Pregnancy and birth draw heavily on your nutrient stores, and the months that follow, often with broken sleep and breastfeeding, keep that demand high. Our postnatal range is designed to help you replenish what has been used and support your recovery, whether or not you are breastfeeding.

Revital Essence is our postnatal multivitamin, combining Iron, B Vitamins, Zinc and Choline for new mothers in the first 12 months after birth. Iron contributes to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue. If you are breastfeeding, Vital DHA continues to support your baby, as maternal DHA intake contributes to normal brain and eye development of breastfed infants. The Postnatal Support Pack combines Revital Essence, Vital DHA, Psyllium Husk and Vitamin D Spray, and the Ultimate New Mum Pack adds our postnatal skincare, all developed with IVF experts and more than 40 years of Zita West's experience. Frequently asked questions

Do I need to keep taking vitamins after giving birth?

We recommend it. Your body continues to need extra nutrients while it recovers, and more again if you are breastfeeding. The NHS advises breastfeeding mothers to consider a daily supplement containing 10µg of Vitamin D, and our Vitamin D Spray is an easy way to take it. Read more about Vitamin D for postnatal recovery.

How long should I take postnatal vitamins?
Revital Essence is formulated for the first 12 months after birth, when the demands of recovery and breastfeeding are usually highest. Many women continue for as long as they are breastfeeding.
Can I keep taking my pregnancy vitamins after birth?
You can, but your needs change after birth, particularly if you are breastfeeding. Revital Essence is formulated for this stage and picks up where Vital Essence 3 leaves off.
Are your postnatal supplements suitable while breastfeeding?

Yes, Revital Essence and Vital DHA are designed for breastfeeding mothers. If you are taking prescribed medication, check with your GP or health visitor before adding a new supplement. Our guide to breastfeeding nutrition has more on what you need at this stage.

I feel exhausted after giving birth. Can supplements help?
Tiredness is very common in the months after birth, and replenishing nutrients is one part of recovery. Iron contributes to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue, and Revital Essence includes Iron alongside B Vitamins to support new mothers. If exhaustion is severe or you're feeling low, speak to your GP or health visitor, as it can sometimes be a sign of anaemia or postnatal depression.
